Eid celebrations

did ppl celebrate & enjoy Eid to the fullest?
I don't think so!
years back we've used to watch live talk shows in all Arab TV channels
and expect compititions with great prizes on radio channels... did we
have those activities this season? NO ... why? Im still looking for
answers.
shopping malls and some other public places seem to eagerly expect
Chrismas and they've all their decorations in place, which by the way
are beautiful!
I'm not against celebrating other religion's occasions especially that
we have many christian ppl living with us, but I, as a Muslim expect
to see our Eid festivals taken place as it should be.

iphone-Tips for new users

• Do not update ur device with the new software/update, otherwise u
won't be able to read/ write in Arabic.

• If u r from the UAE don't bother by creating an account on iTunes
as online purchasing from that site is not supported in our country. u
can still use ur own pictures, videos and ringtones, iPod users
propably know how!

• Be careful when answering/talking to someone as the slightest touch
on the screen by ur finger or hand might result in hanging up or
turning on the speaker!!

• U don't have to worry about adding details to ur contacts; sony
ericsson users suffer the most lolz

• Get ready to manually add ur contacts, unless u have them all added
to ur outlook account before synchronizing ur device with ur laptop/PC

Drawbacks:

• Settings are not available for e-wab, mms, and gprs
• No front camera, i.e can't have video calls
• Touch screen works with fingers only
• Difficulty in moving the cursor; only by magnifying the text which
takes longer time in some cases
• Can't forward an SMS
• Can't copy, cut & paste

Those were the main points I have for now. Please let me know if any
of the points is wrong. If there is a way we can have all the can'ts
feature then the iPhone will definitely be the no. 1

Different cultures … same attitude!!!

On the Internet we meet different people from different countries with different backgrounds

The chance of meeting someone from far away but with the same mind-set of people around you, which you probably are running away from is rare … well, it happened to me!! I met that guy!!!! I really liked him and considered him as a friend but he preferred to forget all about it when I refused to give him my real name (as he claimed)!!!! I was using real second name, it’s real in sense that @ home they call me (….)

We’ve been talking to each other on msn for almost 9 months … he is from UK and I’m from UAE, so you can see the big difference! However, he is very much exposed to Arabs by living in London, and has been so many times to Dubai … I guess that’s why he is acting like one of them!!

Few days ago when I was in Dubai, we had the following conversation:

What’s your real name?

You know it

No I don’t... Tell me your real name

(….) is one of my names

You don’t trust me do you?

Who said anything about trust … it has nothing to do with trust!

 

Early this week we had the same conversation but with more accusations and I don’t see him anymore online!! He was a very good friend and I like him …

 

Aren’t you gonna tell me your real name?

I told you my real name and you know it already do you think I’m lying?

I’m sure you have another name? why don’t you trust me?

Please don’t talk about trust, we know each other since almost last year and it’s enough for anyone to figure out if the other person is good, nice and honest or not

If you think that I’m a nice guy why you wanna hide your real name and your looks?! I wanna see you as well and talk to you… if you don't then you must have a bf

…etc

 

I tried to explain to him that it’s not easy for me to do that and he said that if I’m so open and talk to different people online then I should be willing to do whatever others are not doing! Then immediately he started guessing why I’m not willing to disclose my real name and go and meet him in public … he actually thought that I have a boyfriend (BF) and that’s why I’m not willing to go deep with him and talk about feelings!!! Can you imagine that?!

 

I never thought that men from foreign countries think the same way … even if h/they are right; a girl doesn’t have to tell everyone about her personal life, in fact no one should do that; we have to respect others privacy.

 

How far would you go on with online friends?

The minute you start apologizing for not providing a piece of information, you are accused of not trusting the other person.

If you immediately answer a personal question such as “what is your name?” you’ll be accused of being a liar!!!

Is it selfish to avoid talking about your personal life with online friends even though you’ve mentioned that at the beginning of the 1^stconversation you had, and even though they are willing to share theirs with you?

ppl think if they are active during the day and their schedule is full until they go to bed then they are energetic and successful ... in my opinion that could be wrong!!

I was active almost for more than 70% of the total hours i have all day ... usually I sleep @ 00:00 until 07:00am when i wake up and prepare to go to work (i wake up @ 05:00am for alfajer prayer & go back to sleep), i stay active until 07:00pm; finish work @ 04:00pm after that i head to the city to either go to the gym or do some shopping. when i reach home @ 07:30pm i have other things to do ... i either go on the Internet, read, or watch TV until 11:30pm which gives me only 30 minutes to prepare to go to bed ...

some of my friends envy me for the free time i have, and guess what?! i don't have free time ... in fact i'm ready to pay all my savings to have extra hours!!! (how would it be if we have 30 hours a day?!!!!)

you'd probably ask, why am I not satisfied? is it because i work for too long? No!

is it because i do the shopping and exercise everyday? No!

then WHAT IS IT?

i don't have time to sit and chat with mom & dad :(

the older i get the more i think of them

so, i have decided to quite the gym and start working out @ home (sometimes dad joins me lolz) and postpone all the daily shopping till the weekend ... and most important is to have the wireless connection available in all areas @ home so that i can work while sitting next to mom in the living room (i'm still looking for the best router)

i remember one day mom said to me: I don't want you to stop your routine and cancel your appointments, all i want is to see you everyday in the morning and sit & talk to you before sun falls and kiss you before you go to bed ... that made me burst in tears feeling so bad that i made my mom suffer this much ... she misses me ... fdeetha ummi 7abibti

so for all of you ... busy dudes .. plz plz plz

RE-DEFINE YOUR PRIORITIES

with the changes i made to my schedule, not only that i've enjoyed the time with my parents, i have learned the more important skill someone could learn ... LISTENING

it takes time to change .. i know .. but it's worth it .. you will win at all costs

Those are the big Don'ts to me for all shop/store keepers ... Please please please avoid them; you are actually pushing your customers away!
I went to a store this weekend and the storekeeper was like, "i'm not in the mood"!!! i wanted to get that piece so bad that i would pay any price it takes, but when I saw that attitude i changed my mind. I knew i couldn't find it anywhere else, though i couldn't buy it ... i was pissed off.

for my future shop, God's Willing, I would assign all my staff in classes that teaches them how to deal with customers and would evaluate them based on that, i won't care if s/he is illiterate, as long as s/he treats my customers like VIPs, s/he is the best to me

When you go shopping or getting one thing, you are actually in need for help, even for the simplest thing, or with prior knowledge about that thing -you should know if there is a better one, or @ least what's new out there. For food, you might want to know if there is a new recipe, or a better origin country for a vegetable or a fruit. For cloths you might wonder if a certain material is better than the other one, or if it's possible to have the same design made for you by another material which you are not allergic to ... etc.

Lacking such communication with the shop/store keeper would most of the time makes me hate to come back unless I see someone different is inside with a big smile waiting for ppl to pay him/her a visit and see what's offered, even if they won't buy, at least they get to see the items and would probably come back some other time ^_^ I usually do that ... i've became different, i used to buy things right away, now i've slowed down, i need to take my time *_^ probably testing the staff in that store :P - no i wouldn't

Friday's ... Happy Weekends

What a lovely Friday …

I love Fridays … it's the only day when I can sit with the family and have all 3 meals together; usually on Friday whoever is dieting would think less of eating that crap which we call "healthy meal". Me, as a professional in regimes and dieting could care less when it comes to my mom's lovely cooking on Fridays LOLz

It depends on my dad's mood lolz, sometimes he prefers Shamee's* light dinner which consists of (boiled eggs, olives, labnah, cheese, honey, fresh salad)… some other nights he prefers to have whatever is left from lunch, OR Indian dinner –you can imagine what sort of food we'd be eating at that night ^_^


The most wonderful moment in this day is when dad sits in the living room or sometimes in the TV room and chat with us, we can talk about ANYTHING & EVERYTHING, but not sex :P and it's all girls, me and my sisters with mom, and at the end of the evening we get to have all we want from him *_* it could be a promise to take us on a trip to Alain, or Dubai... OR money in case someone is in need for :P

*Karak: is everyone's favorite morning drink, besides Arabic coffee, it consists of fresh milk, tea, sugar, and some herbs to make it tastes fabulous.

When I googled "Karak", to add it's picture for those who don't know it, I got to know that there is a city in Jordan called "Karak"!!!! it's a new pice of information to me ... I got to work on my Geography information :P , I know someone would say :How the hell you've never heard of it before?! and my father would be the first one to say that to me!! anyway, besides that piece of information for you guys, here it is the picture of my favorite drink:

*Balalee6: is some sort of small fine thin noodles boiled in sugared water, with some vegetable oil, and served with fried eggs on top ... WooooW, we love it and here it is :D

*5abee9: is the second most favorable dish in the Gulf ... it's a dessert dish made of brown flour fried with vegetable oil and sugar with water ... yammeeeee you can add some herbs as well

*Makboos: a traditional dish that each and every house in the middle east have it at least twice a week, it consists of rice cooked in meat's soup which is cooked in a special way, with fried onions and tomatos (optional) of course ... and here it is ... my favorite dish :D

*Shamee: to us ppl in the gulf a shamee person is someone who is from any of these countries (Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan, or Syria) to them s/he is someone from Syria only!

Haifa'a Hussain in Town - هيفاء حسين في أبوظبي

It was a great pleasure for me to run into a lovely celebrity today ... it was in one of AD's most comfortable spas ... in Muhairy Center ... I'm not gonna mention the name :P

There I saw her ... هيفاء حسين ... my sisters envy me and they almost hated me because i didn't take them with me ... for the last couple of months i've been doing the shopping all by my self, which is much better :D

anyway ,,,, when I first saw her I wanted to jump out of the chair and go say "Hi" .. but thank GOD my head was under the water ... "washing my hair" ... Haifaa was not smiling .. so @ first sight I thought she was one of those mean actresses, but later on when I talked to the ladies in the spa i told them that she is a celebrity -they are philipinos and didn't know her- they got excited and wanted to have a second look @ her beautiful face LOL ... I asked for help from one of the staff there ... i didn't dare to talk to her directly!

I took one of their appointment card and ran behind that staff with hope that Haifaa wouldn't turn me down!!

when I entered ... she smiled :) yes she did, she's noticed me looking at her every now and then ... I shaked hand with her and talked to her for few seconds and she singed an autograph for me .... just me ....

A precious autograph in my preciouse GUCCI wallet given to me as a gift from my sister who hates Haifaa LOLz ... kidding .. she doesn't hate her .. she hated her character in one of the TV serials ;)

I adore her ... ^_^

you know what ... "celebrities" have strong influence on ppl ... when i saw Haifaa .. i immediately thought about how bad i've been to my self! i don't care about my foot, my hands, my body (I'm a little bit overweight but not obese).. so, i made a promise to watch out and take care of me.. I can imagine now how some teenagers would die to look like their favorite singer, actor, ... etc.

I don't remember i'd fallen for any of the celebrities!!!

في البدايه أحييكم بتحية الإسلام ... السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته ...

ترددت كثيراً في كاتبة هذا المقال خوفاً من أن أوصف بـ "البخل" أو الزط* –بلهجتنا المحلية، غير أن الموضوع أصبح واضحاً تماماً و البعض أصبح يعارض و يتشره* على الجميع!

جرت العادة بأن يقوم زملاء القسم الواحد بتجميع مبلغ مالي بسيط للموظف المقبل على مناسبه معينه إن كانت زواج، مولود جديد، استقاله، تفنيش، ... إلخ، و تكون المشاركه اختياريه و بالمبلغ المستطاع. لا اعتراض على ذلك، فجميعنا أخوة و يد واحدة و يساعد أحدنا الآخر، و لكن، هل يعقل بأن نقوم بكتابة أسماء المساهمين و بالمبلغ المشارَك به؟

في المناسبتين التي قمت بالمشاركه فيهما رفضت رفضاً قاطعاً كتابة إسمي بالرغم من إصرار البعض لأنه اذا استلم (س) الظرف و شاف (ص) دافع 100 درهم بيرجع يدفعها له اذا جاته مناسبه و لموا له بيزات*! مبدأ خاطئ و محرج جداً

الطريف في الموضوع هو ما حدث في احد الأقسام (جماعه غير جماعتنا الكريمه) هذه الجماعه اعتادوا على تجميع مبلغ معين و شراء هديه مناسبه و "تستاهل" للشخص المعني ... في إحدى المرات لما علم "فلان" بأنه تم البدأ في تجميع المبلغ من الزملاء في القسم سارع بالتحدث إلى "أمين السر" (اللي يجمع البيزات) و قال له بأنه يفضل لو يُسَلّم المبلغ لأنه لا يريد الهدية التي قد لا تنفعه!!!!!!! فالمال "الكاش" سيفيده بالتأكيد!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

بصراحه .. عين قوية

و الغريب أن بعض الافراد أيّد الفكره .. فمعظمهم يفضلون "الكاش"!!!! و الاغرب انه لما قوبل بالرفض "زعل" L و مد بوزه*!!

No Smoking

What part of "No Smoking" is not understood?

How difficult the picture is to understand?

I guess smokers are too sick to see the sign and comprehend it!

Tonight I went to the Pizza Hut in a shopping mall .. "AD Mall" with my mother and sisters.. and there were two guys sitting behind us .. everything was fine until one of them graped a cigarette and started smoking ... I was like "what the hell is he doing?" and my little sister said "I think I saw a sign saying "No smoking" out side!" thank god she said so, he immediately put it off ... that was good ... however ... others wouldn't ... they don't pay attention to signs and don't care about policies ... as if they own the place!

If you are a smoker .. PLEASE .. considers other people .. we know that you grave for it sometimes .. actually all the time, but that doesn't mean that you harm others as you are doing to your self.

Bad thoughts ...

To drag him all the way to the desert, hold him tight and suffocate him.. that's all i want to do to my direct supervisor ... Astaghfur Allah, he is nice and showing friendly attitude, however, hwen it comes to the actual work, it's not him who does it, it's me, yet nothing is compared to his effort according to the Department Manager!!!! I'm not gonna list my goods and his bads but i know for sure tha tour tasks has nothing to do with our qualifications; it's common sense that should drive our actions not merely some pretended knowledge and past experience of a completely different field!

The reason i'm writing this now is what happened this morning exactly half an hour ago; there is a new project to be implemented and i was nominated, i asked for one day to think about it ... when i answered, i found out that they have already chosen someone!

They = Department manager who actually asked me if i wanna take it and was willing to give it to me
Someone = my Direct Supervisor

I have prayed Esti5ara the day i was informed about it, it definitely Allah's choice for me not to get this job ... so ... Al7amdu Lellah

You're probably wondering "why the hell are you talking with anger about it then?"

زجاجة العطر

قد تخلو الزجاجة من العطر يوما ولكن تبقى الرائحة العطرة عالقة بالزجاجهذلك كما الذكرى الطيبة تبقى عالقة بالقلب تمعنت في هذه الجملة ... فرأيت فيها حقيقة تغيب عن الكثيروقد غابت عني لولا أن رأيت هذه الكلماتونالت أعجابي وأردت أن تستنشقوا راائحة العطر التي تفوح منها الزجاجة

إننا نحب ونحمل مشاعر المودة للكثير ولكن لماذا لانشعر بهذه الأحاسيس إلا إذا التقينا بمن نودهم؟ هل الزجاجة مغلقة

إننا نفقد شعورنا بمودة بعض الناس نظرا لعدم وصالهم لنا بالرغم من وصالنا الدائم إلا أن التشارك في السؤال هو من يبقي الرائحة عالقة في الزجاجه

عندما ننفعل بشدة مع أحد أحبائناونفقد السيطرة بالكلاموهم يفقدونها كذلك فإننا نشعر بقوة علاقتنا ومدى محبتنا وفجأة يزول هذا الشعور ...إلى الأبد ؛ لماذا ؟ .... لأن الزجاجة قد انكسرت ... ! ففاح مافيها من رائحة ثم زال وزالت الزجاجه

عندما نرفض أن نعلم الآخر بمحبتنا له فإننا بذلك نحرم أنفسنا من أمر هو لنا وبهذا فإننا لم نفتح زجاجة العطر ولم نستخدمها . فهل نرضى أن نبقي زجاجة العطرمغلقة

كوب اللبن

طلب والي أحد القرى من أهل القرية طلباً ً غريباً في محاولة منه لمواجهة خطر القحط والجوع الذي تمر به القريه وأخبرهم بأنه سيضع قدراً كبيراً في وسط القرية، وعلى كل رجل وامرأة أن يضع في القدر كوباً من اللبن، بشرط أن يضع كل واحد الكوب لوحده من غير أن يشاهده أحد. هرع الناس لتلبية طلب الوالي، كل منهم تخفى بالليل وسكب ما في الكأس الذي يخصه. و في الصباح فتح الوالي القدر وماذا شاهد ؟ القدر إمتلأ بالماء ولايوجد لبن ؟أين اللبن؟ لماذا وضع كل واحد من الرعية الماء بدلاً من اللبن؟ السبب هو ان كل شخص من الرعية قال في نفسه: (اذا وضعت كوب واحد من الماء فإنه لن يؤثر على كمية اللبن الكبيرة التي سيضعها أهل القرية في القدر) وهذا يعني ان كل واحد اعتمد على غيره في رعاية مصالح البلد وكل واحد منهم فكر بنفس الطريقة التي فكر فيها غيره وكل واحد منهم ظن أنه هو الوحيد الذي سكب ماءً بدلاً من اللبن والنتيجة التي حدثت ان الجوع عم هذه القرية ومات الكثير منهم، ولم يجدوا مايعينهم وقت الأزمات.

سويعات قليلة .. توقفنا لأداء صلاة الظهر و العصر جمعاً و قصراً .. لم نتمكن من المكوث ليلة واحده لضيق الوقت

صلينا ركعتين تضرعاً لله تعالى في الروضة بجانب قبر الرسول صلة الله عليه و سلم

أوصلت السلام على رسول الله لكل من وصاني و دعوت لهم و لي و للجميع بالمغفره

There is a guy "Michael" who is married to "Sara" came in one day after she had a shower and told her that he'll take a shower as well, she's just finished with the towel on her wet body and about to blow-dry her hair when the bell rang! It was their neighbor "Thomas". "Welcome, come on in, Michael is having a shower" said Sara, Thomas didn't answer her as he was staring with pleasure at Sarah's wet sexy wrapped body!!! he suddenly said: "I have a deal for you"
Sarah: "what is it?"
Thomas: "If you let me see you naked, I'll give you $1,000"
Sara was a silent for a moment thinking that it's a tempting offer, one thousand dollars to see her naked body, what the hell!!! She replied "O.K" and uncovered her body for him to see it, when he had enough of looking at her sexy body Thomas handed her the $1,000 and left. Sara was happy with the money she made out of nothing! Few minutes later Michael came out of the shower and asked:
"who was at the door?"
Sara: "it was Thomas"
Michael: "did he bring the $1,000 I lend him a couple of days ago?"
Sara was overwhelmed for a moment and said: "A thousand dollars?!!!! Yes he did", and handed the money to her husband with feel of shame. She realized that Thomas has tricked her!

Moral of the Story:

"Direct communication between partners avoids them great losses"


If Michael told her wife that he'd given Thomaa $1,000, would she let him see her body?

كانت سارا قد أخذت دشاً باردا عندما وصل زوجها مايكل من الخارج وقال لها سوف أدخل لاخذ أيضاً دشاً

وبعد دخول مايكل للاستحمام وفيما كانت زوجته سارا تجفف شعرها واذا بجرس الباب يرن

وعندما فتحت الباب وجدت جارهم توماس فسألته ماذا تريد ولكن توماس كان ينظر الى سارا بدهشه من جمالها

وقوامها وهي لاتزال ترتدي الروب بعد الاستحمام عندها قال توماس لدي عرض لكي يا سارا قالت وما هو

قال سأعطيك 1000 دولار مقابل أن تفتحي الروب لارى جسدك الجميل فقط ؟

فكرت سارا وقالت لنفسها 1000 دولار مقابل لحظه يرى فيها جسمي امممممممممم انه عرض مغري

فقالت له حسناً انا موافقه ..

وكشفت له الروب ليرى جسدها الرائع وهي عاريه وقطرات الماء لازالت تبلل جسدها الفاتن

عندما تأمل توماس هذا المنظر المذهل قام بأعطائها الـ 1000 دولار وذهب في حال سبيله

دخلت سارا وهي مبسوطه بهذا المبلغ الذي لم تدفع مقابله شيء سوى نظره عابره لجسدها

وعندما خرج زوجها مايكل من الحمام سألها من كان يطرق الباب فقالت أنه جارنا توماس

فقال: وهل احضر الـ 1000 دولار التي أعطيتها له قبل يومين ؟؟

فتحت سارا فمها من الدهشه وقالت الالف دولار ؟؟

وأكملت .. نعم لقد أعطاني ألف دولار ونكست رأسها وهي تعطي زوجها المبلغ

وعلمت أن توماس عمل فيها مقلباً محترماً بأن أعاد لهم الالف دولار بعد أن تأمل مفاتنها



الدرس :

الإتصال بين الشركاء .. تجنبهم الوقوع في خسائر فادحه


يعني لو كان مايكل معطي زوجته خبر أنه مسلف توماس 1000 دولار

هل يا ترى كان كشفت له جسمها؟

انقلبت الموازين

قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم: تنكح المرأه لأربع لمالها ولحسبها ولجمالها ولدينها، فاظفر بذات الدين تربت يداك

ولكن الآن .. انقلبت الموازين و أصبح الرجل يبحث عن ذات المال

!!!!

بعد زياة رواتب الموظفين في القطاع الحكومي أصبحت فرصة الزواج "للعانسات" كبيره جداً .. و الرابح الاكبر هو من يستطيع الفوز بتلك الغبية التي سترضى بأن تكون الممول الرئيسي لهذه العلاقه المؤقته

الجميع بات يتحدث عن أكبر عجلة دوارة في العالم و موقعها "سنغفوره" حيث يبلغ ارتفاعها 165 متراً و تتألف من 28 كبسولة تتسع الكبسولة الواحده لـ 28 شخصاً

في زيارتي الأخيره لهذه الدولة الرائعه لم اتمكن من ركوب العجلة لأنه كان من المفترض تشغيلها في حفلة رأس السنة الصينيه "سنة الفأر" ومنذ ذلك الحين و أنا احلم بالعودة إلى هناك مجدداً

Don't you sometimes feel like you miss someone so much that you cannot take it anymore!! This is how I feel right now...

... Stress ...

For the past few months things have changed in my work place, people are leaving for a better place, others are being threatened to be fired and the rest –including me- are worried and thinking what would happen to me? I keep asking my self "what is the worst thing that could happen?" and I can't really find an answer! Therefore I've started acting as "I DON'T CARE"!! However, later on I started to worry more an dmore when I saw the effects of the working environment I am in on my body; hair falling, panda eyes, weight loss (the most beneficiary result :P) and above that is "mood swings", which puts me in awkward situations most of the time especially at home where I should be in my best behavior with my parents and sisters.

That was a long intro. For the measirable period in my life so far, and in order to act wisely I tried to look for a solution after I found out that "I DO CARE"! First I tried to look for another job, then I decided to reach to the top management people and be VISIBLE, lastly I decided to evaluate my case instead of having it evaluated by a shrink (LOL). The first two solusions (though to be solutions) didn't work, only loosers think of them. As long as I educate myself and I'm moving towards self-development I won't be out there without a job.

I couldn't hold my laugh when I saw this cartoon :D ... it clearly describes how ppl sometimes misunderstand an idea or a decision...if we see the final drawing with the comment, and ask "who's idea is this?" everyone would say it's "x" the first one who drew the ground "line" ... in real life, try to look for the source, it may not be as bad as the result is!
